Biography

Nadene Nunn-Bruton, 93, of Neosho, died peacefully at home on July 20, 2011, after a long illness. She was born in Granby, MO, to Pete Nunn and Carol (Roark) Nunn on Jan. 10, 1918.
When she was an infant her family moved to Mason Springs, MO.
She graduated as Salutatorian of the Seneca High School Class of 1936 and attended the former Joplin Business College on a scholarship. Nadene married Charlie Bruton on February 2, 1946, in Seneca, MO. He preceded her in death April 18, 2008.
Nadene was a former Chief Deputy Clerk of the U.S.D.A. and a member of Swars Prairie Baptist Church for 75 years, where she taught the youth Sunday school and was youth director for many years. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and gardening. She also enjoyed tatting and raising African violets.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Marcelene Sreaves.
Survivors include three brothers, Sam Nunn, Neosho, Max Nunn and wife, Sharon, Seneca, and Brooks Nunn, Edmond, OK; five nieces, Virginia Ann Barnard and husband, Barry, Missouri City, TX, Betty Sue Jones, Denton, TX, Carol Jane Graves and husband, Jonathon, Kerrville, TX, Vicki Wade and husband, Ronnie, Claremore, OK, and Rhonda Percival and husband, Donnie, Seneca; three nephews, Ron Nunn and wife, Marti, Edmond, OK, Bob Hewitt, Amarillo, TX, and Jeff Nunn and wife, Stephanie, Goodman; eleven great-nieces and nephews; six great, great-nephews; one great, great-niece; and three cousins, Floyd Sreaves and wife, Carolyn, Seneca, Margie Perse and husband Kenny, Wyandotte, OK, and Darwin Tucker, Seneca.
A special appreciation to all who helped her remain in her home these last few years, Tina Anderson, Tracy Rea and JoAnna McCrory. We love and thank them for all that they have done.
