Delbert Ely, 89, Purdy, died Friday, October 14, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital. He was born July 22, 1922, in Fairview, Missouri, to Harry H. and Myrtle (Erisman) Ely.
Mr. Ely was a lifelong area resident and worked at La Z Boy for 13 years, as a janitor/watchman.
He is survived by two brothers, Lester Ely and wife, Barbara, Neosho, and Gerald Eugene Ely, Purdy; two sisters, Ruby Ely and Clara Ely, both of Seneca,; nieces and nephews, Don and Jill Ely, Ron and Cami Ely, Clarence and Toni Ely, James and Rhonda Ely, and Bev and Rich Burleson; great-nieces and nephews, Jonathan and Tracy Ely, Heather and Ben Cotter, Eric Ely, Justin Ely, Lucas and Samantha Standefer, Nicle Ely, Kaitlan and Logan Ely, and Patrick and Masharah Humphries; and numerous great, great-nieces and nephews.
