Obituary

Albert Morgan Landes, 84, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. He was born on September 11, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Albert Landes and Esther (Johnston) Landes.

Albert was a proud graduate of Carl Junction High School, where his talents in both football and baseball earned him a scholarship to continue his athletic pursuits. He married the love of his life, Rosemary Landes, on April 27, 1979, and they shared many wonderful years together.

A talented and dedicated carpenter, Albert was self-employed and built a reputation for his skill and integrity. In his personal life, he was known for his adventurous spirit, enjoying fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around, bringing joy to those around him. Above all, Albert was a generous soul who never met a stranger—always ready to lend a hand or offer a kind word.

Albert was a member of Leawood Village Church of Christ, where his faith played an important role in his life. He cherished his family and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Landes; children, Rebecca (Harry) Hovis of Texas, Patricia (Jimmy) Arnaud of Monett, Missouri, Keith Landes of Granby, Missouri, Beckie (Jeff) Harper of Seneca, Missouri; two brothers, Carl (Helen) Landes, Robert (Carol) Landes, Terry (Tina) Landes; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George Lee Landes and Arthur Douglas Landes.
