Alma Lou Block, 90, of Wichita, Kansas passed away peacefully while surrounded by family and friends, August 25, 2026.
She was born March 22, 1936 in Neosho, Missouri to Raymond Hurt and Alma Bell Mills. She was the youngest of six.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Ray Block, and her son, Joseph Dale Irvin. Survived by daughter, Terry Johnson, and son, Douglas (Patti) Irvin, Jr, grandchildren Amie (Rob) Huntley, Clyta (Curtis) Spain, Melissa (Mike) McClendon, Wesley (Diana) Johnson, April Mann, Janelle (Efrain) Lopez, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Alma was a wonderful mother and grandmother, loving her family with all her heart. Her love and concern for others was evident in all that she did as well. She loved to pray for and help others however she could. She was active in church and church groups all of her life. She loved Jesus and looked forward to seeing Him. She also enjoyed playing (and winning) games with family and friends. Her fun sense of humor and competitiveness was a joy to be around. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
