Arvel Wake Jr., 81, of Ritchey, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1943, in Clinton, Arkansas, to Arvel Wake Sr. and Ivonne Berry.  Arvel also had three siblings, Jurutta (Lee), Jeanetta Graham, and Roger Nolan.

Arvel was a skilled painter at Sunbeam for many years and took pride in his work. He married Joella on March 11, 1964, and together they shared a life full of love and memories until her passing on September 6, 2001.

In his spare time, Arvel enjoyed playing guitar, spending time with family at cookouts, and camping trips. He was an active member of the Neosho VFW, where he enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes. His family will always remember his joy for life, his warm heart, and the laughter he brought to every gathering.

Arvel is survived by his children, Sherry (Marvin) Whittington of Aurora, Missouri, Mary (Rolla) Brooks of Strang, Oklahoma, Larry Wake of Kansas City, Missouri, and Terry Wake of Ritchey, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joella and his parents. Arvel's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
