Asa Dosher Ruark, III, 79, entered into rest on September 22, 2023 surrounded by his family after a short illness.  He was born on January 28, 1944, AT Camp Lejeune, NC, the son of  Asa D.  and Mary Elizabeth (Upchurch) Ruark.  Asa grew up in North Carolina where he graduated high school and would later earn his engineering degree followed by a degree in theology.  During his career, he was a truck driver for twenty three years until his retirement. In his spare time, he had a passion for music, especially playing the guitar and singing along with listening to music.   Asa and Vickey Bettes were united in marriage on October 16, 1983 in Pasadena, CA; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons:  Bruce Justice; and Brent Justice and his wife, Jenel.  Six grandchildren:  Delia and her husband, Johnnie; Ashley and her fiance', Kyle; Christopher, Regan, Brennan, and Alexis.  Two great-grandchildren, Allie and Amelia, and one great-grandchild on the way.  He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Lynn Sellers, and one brother-in-law, Jimmy Sellers.
