Obituary

Bruce Wayne Connell, age 60, passed away on April 29, 2024. He was born to LaVerne and MonnaRae (VanKirk) Connell on January 28, 1964, in Joplin, MO. Bruce was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hiking, trail riding on mules, and exploring National and State Parks. He faithfully attended Bethany Baptist Church. Bruce spent much of his career as a delivery driver for Martin Oil and spent his last working days at Turbo Supply.

On April 9, 1982, Bruce married the love of his life Karen Ward in Racine, MO, and they enjoyed 42 loving years together. After retirement, Bruce found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Karen survives him. Together they shared a loving family that would include their 2 sons  Bryce Connell and his wife Carrie, and Bryan Connell and his wife Elizabeth, all of Neosho, MO. Bruce was also blessed with six grandchildren Katelyn, Alexis, Lillian, Hunter, Zoey, Sterling and one great-granddaughter Athena, each who brought him immense joy.  Bruce is remembered fondly by his sister Brenda Daniels and her husband Curtis, along with his uncle Don Connell and his wife Darlene. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents LaVerne and MonnaRae, also his son, Johnathon, and his sister Letitia Palmer.

Visitation will be held from 6-7 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Funeral services will take place at 10 am on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Bethany Baptist Church, followed by interment at Seneca Cemetery. Raymon Merriman & Frank Ward will officiate the service.
