Carol Jean Bessman, age 90, departed this life on October 4, 2024. She was born on October 7, 1933, to Fred William Fullerton and Virginia Fay Cole. A graduate of Diamond High School, Carol was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

On October 31, 1955, she married Gilbert C. Bessman in Miami, Oklahoma, and they shared many cherished years together before his passing on November 11, 2010. Carol also worked at Walmart for 10 years and was an active member of Hillcrest Church of Christ. Her passions included quilting, cooking, gardening, fishing, and sewing skills she lovingly shared with her family and friends, and she loved working on jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Candie (Wayne) Reinhart and Lorie (Rob) Dilworth, along with six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Glen Fullerton, her son Terry Bessman, and stepmother, Edith May Capps-Fullerton who raised her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Church of Christ, with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Neosho Christian School, 903 W. South Street, Neosho, Missouri 64850.
