Carol West, age 76, departed this life on July 25, 2024, at her home in Goodman with her family at her side. Born on July 25, 1948, in Springfield, Missouri, to Leo Smith and Geneva Hamilton, Carol lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family and passions.
Carol worked for Daisy as a supervisor for the shipping department for 20 years until her retirement. Her career was marked by diligence and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and the company.
On October 28, 1974, Carol married Ronald West, who survives her. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they shared many wonderful moments, especially dancing at the ATA Hall, tending to her beloved flowers, and exploring the country in their motorhome.
Carol's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by four sons, Dennis Lee Gilbert, Scott Gilbert, Bryan Gilbert, and Jonathan West; and three daughters, Cynthia Gilbert, Sheila (Josh) Lane, and Lisa (Derrick) Bruton. She leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory and the love she shared with them.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri, from 5:30 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, at 10 AM, at Clark Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. Gary Wayne Bond will be officiating.
Carol's legacy of love, joy, and dedication will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
