Carolyn Rea Lay was born on January 17, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Delmer and Mildred Marie (Collins) Weston.  She entered into rest at her home in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 80, on June 9, 2024.  Carolyn graduated from Quapaw High School and then obtained a BSN from Missouri Southern State College. She pursued a carrier as a LPN and RN.  She worked in the medical field as an ER nurse and in home health care.  She enjoyed gardening and picking apples with her grand kids, going to garage sales, reading and taking good care of her many pets.  She was sassy and stubborn, which is an attribute she installed in her granddaughters!  On July 11, 1964, in Quapaw, Oklahoma, Carolyn and Harrell Lay were united in marriage.  In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by two children, Chris Lay and wife, Carolyn of Texas, Nena Jones and husband, Jody of Oklahoma, and four grandchildren, Claudia Jones, Ruth Lay, Max Lay, Olivia Lay.  She is preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Homer Lay and sister-in-law, Mona Taylor.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 at 2:00 pm.  Following graveside services, a reception and time of fellowship will be held at Monark Springs until 5:00 pm.
