Chad Wheatley decided to go on a long fishing trip with the Lord on June 12, 2026, leaving behind a family and circle of loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Though his time here was far too short, the love he shared and the presence he brought into the live of others will not be forgotten.

Chad was a father, son, brother and friend whose life was marked by the love for his surviving mother, Janie Yoachum, children, Chance Wheatley and Daytona Whitlock, siblings, Judy Wheatley, Heather Garrett, John Coffman, Robyn Colb and Crystal Martin, several grand children and other family members who will continue to carry pieces of him with them always. He will be remembered for the moments they shared, lessons he taught and the strength he showed.

Chad was a graduate of Halfway Missouri High School. He held several mechanical jobs throughout his life and retired doing his dream job of mowing his lawn. His was an avid lover of the outdoors, an equestrian, biker, and probably could beat you at any video game and of course his best parting words would be “hold my beer”.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor at Frank’s Lounge, 2112 S. Main Street, Joplin, MO from 6-8pm on Thursday July 16, 3026. Be sure to grab a red beer on his behalf.
