Cliff McGarrah passed away September 14, 2026 at the age of 77.

Cliff was born in Palo Alto, California, to Joseph William and Kathleen Link McGarrah. He was a graduate of Triway (now East Newton) High School and Crowder College, and attended Missouri Southern College (now Missouri Southern State University) for two years prior to being drafted into the U.S. Army. During his time in the service, Cliff was stationed in the United States and in Fulda, Germany, and was honorably discharged in 1972, having attained the rank of sergeant.

Cliff was drawn to the West with its wide, open spaces and rugged beauty. He lived and worked in many cities across the western United States before returning home to Missouri to participate in the care of his aging parents on the family farm near Stella.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a sister, Janice, and her husband, Steve Williams, and a sister, Kathy McGarrah, all of Texas.

No services are planned. Interment will be at Owsley-Union Cemetery, in McDonald County, Missouri.
