David Michael Alford, age 73, a lifelong resident of the Joplin, Missouri area, passed on to be with the Lord on August 3, 2023, at his home.  David was born November 28, 1949, in Joplin, to Melvin and Jeanne Alford.  He graduated from Diamond High School.  David worked for Southwestern Bell for thirteen years and then as a general contractor the remainder of his career.  On August 21, 1976, in Nixa, Missouri, David married Malinda Martin and she survives.  In addition to his wife of 46 years, David is survived by three children, John Alford and wife, Kim of Joplin, Jason Alford and wife, Alison of Joplin and Julie Brooks and husband, Tyler of Cave Springs, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Jackson, Kaiden, Keigan, Jala, Ollie, Nora and Asher; two brothers, Dale Alford and wife, Terri of Diamond, Don Alford and wife, Donna of Diamond and two sisters, Kathleen Reiboldt and husband, Bill of Neosho and Janice Garbet and husband, Mark of Diamond.  David is preceded in death by his parents.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 10 am at the Racine Christian Church, Pastor Kirk Rolfsema will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Hornet Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, Missouri.
