Dennis Earl Stipp, age 81, of Granby, Missouri, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, Missouri. He was born July 13, 1941, in Stark City, Missouri, to the late Thaddoeus Joseph and Christine Mammie (Harris) Stipp. On April 24, 1972, he married Katherine Martin in Granby.
Dennis graduated from Granby High School. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in June 1966. Following his discharge, he re-enlisted in the Army National Guard, retiring on March 29, 1988, and in September 1989, he retired as the custodian for Granby Manufacturing. Dennis enjoyed reading, working in his yard, and collecting rocks. He was an avid fisherman, often sharing a fisherman's tale or two; however, most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Katherine "Kay" Stipp of the home; one son, Joey Stipp and his wife, Dawnette of Granby; one brother, Christopher Stipp and his wife, Kelly of Carthage, Missouri; five grandchildren, Lance Stipp, Zachary Branham, Megan Gregory, Eric Stipp, and Rylee Stipp; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, his three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Clark Funeral Home in Granby, with Mark Turner officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Hazelgreen Cemetery in Boulder City, Missouri. Joey Stipp, Zachary Branham, Mike Lamp, Trevor Williams, Dusty Bell, and Rylee Stipp will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Clark Funeral Home in Granby.
