Dennis Michael Woodcock, 70, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on March 13, 2025. He was born on April 27, 1954, in Neosho, Missouri, to Bobbie Gene Woodcock and Velda Violet (Green). Dennis grew up in the Joplin area and graduated from Diamond High School in 1972 before attending Crowder College.

Dennis worked as a drilling specialist for Midwest Foundations, where he dedicated nearly 30 years of service, starting in 1995 and retiring in 2024. He attended First Baptist Church in Joplin, MO with his grandchildren.

In his youth, Dennis was an accomplished athlete, excelling in both basketball and baseball, earning spots on all-star teams. As a southpaw pitcher, he played for the AAA Columbus Bombers, known for his mean curveball. His love for sports and the outdoors was a constant throughout his life, and he was an avid outdoorsman. His passion for hunting was evident, marking his 50th deer season in his final hunting year. On his last day of hunting, he proudly bagged the biggest buck of his life with a 50-year-old rifle.

Dennis was a devoted father and grandfather, leaving behind two daughters: Sarah Foster of Ponte Vedra, Florida; Kanisha (Jacob) Richardson of Pittsburg, Kansas, and three nephews he shared a special bond with: Zac (Denisha) Woodcock of Mustang, Oklahoma, Wyatt Hettinger, and Philip Houk. He was also blessed with many grandchildren, including Alexander Dean Richardson, Aniniston Delynn Richardson, Andrew Michael Richardson, Kenzie Woodcock, Kortnie Woodcock, Dalton Duffield, and Ellie Houk.

He is survived by his brother, Larry (Tina) Woodcock of Mustang, Oklahoma; his sister, Debbie (Rick) Fransisco of Anderson, Missouri; and his children and grandchildren, who will continue to cherish his memory.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. The family kindly requests that contributions be made in his memory to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri, 63110.

Dennis's legacy will live on through the lives of his family, friends, and all those who knew him. His love for his family, his strength, and his zest for life will never be forgotten.
