Gary James Granger, age 71, of Stella, Missouri, passed away at 4:38 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at National Health Care in Joplin, Missouri. He was born April 27, 1951, in Inkom, Idaho, the son of the late Fay Junior and Nancy Lou (Ford) Granger. Gary was raised in Stella, graduated from Stella High School, and excluding his time in the military, has resided in Stella his entire life. He retired as a Captain from United States Army after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; three sons, Kenny (Lisa) Bunch, Matthias Granger, and Zachary (Marissa) Granger; two daughters, Cristal (Kevin) Mouser and Sara Moran; two brothers, Ron (Alisa) Granger and Randy (Beverly) Granger; one sister, Sandra (Larry) Eckert; two stepsons, Rex (Kelley) Inmon, and victor (Adriana) Breazzeal; one stepdaughter, Alisa Granger; and two grandchildren, Paris and London Bunch.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Larry Granger, sister, Liana Gann, and granddaughter, Sydney Bunch, preceded him in death.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Jones Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Stella. Visitation will follow at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17, at the Macedonia Cemetery, under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home.
