Gladys L. Tubbs, 82, Monark Springs, MO, died Friday morning, July 31, 2009, at an area nursing home, following a lengthy illness. She was born January 24, 1927, in Purdy, MO, to Oscar and Nellie (Ennis) Bowman. Mrs. Tubbs was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a sales clerk at J. C. Penny's in Neosho for 20 years. She was a member of Trail Drivers Wagon Club, and active in the Monarch Baptist Church where she was a member. Gladys married Julian Tubbs, April 6, 1947. He preceded her in death April 15, 1997. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and DeAnna Tubbs, Diamond; a brother, Don Smith, Purdy; a sister, Ruby Showalter, Granby; and two grandchildren, Cody Tubbs, and Dusty Tubbs, and wife Holly.
