Obituary

James Larry Brumfield was born November 21, 1944, in Poplarville, Mississippi, one of five children to Otis and Virgie (Spears) Brumfield.  He entered into rest on July 28, 2023, in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 78.  Larry was a graduate of Granby High School and worked as a truck driver for MFA.  He served his country in the U.S. Army, April 3, 1968 through April 2, 1974, during the Vietnam era. Larry loved spending time with his son and all of his family.  He was a member of Joplin Heights Baptist Church.  Larry is survived by a son, Keith Brumfield and wife, Becca of Diamond; two grandchildren, Kyle Brumfield and wife, Shelby of Seneca, Missouri and Kendra Adams and husband, Joe of Alaska; four great grandchildren, Logan Brumfield, Beau, Zane, Remy and baby Adams due to arrive in 2024 and numerous nieces, nephews and other family. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tina; his parents and siblings, O.T. and Lance Brumfield, Shirley Copeland and infant sister.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Pastor Keith Brumfield will officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until service time.  Full military honors and interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Springfield, MO.  Contributions in memory of Larry may be made to Joplin Heights Baptist Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO  64850.
