James Edward Smith, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on May 6, 1954, in Neosho, where he spent his entire life and became a cherished member of the community.

James was known for enjoying the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in spending time with his beloved tractor, listening to music, and enjoying the companionship of his devoted dog. James's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

James is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Gary) Lowery and Marlena (Lewis) Ellington, two sisters, Brenda (Ronald) Friend and Peggy (Allen) Herrin, along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, who will remember him fondly.

A memorial service in honor of James Edward Smith will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and celebrate his life. Further details regarding the service will be announced as arrangements are finalized.

James will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the love he shared with those around him.
