John Calvin Powers, Sr, passed away on May 15, 2024. He was born in Fairland, Oklahoma, on June 21, 1947 to Jesse and Ellen Powers, John was a lifelong resident of Neosho, Missouri, and dedicated 30 years of his career to Talbot Wire Co. Following his tenure there, he worked alongside his brother, Sam, maintaining Oakwood Cemetery.

John was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, and eleven siblings: Reatha Dickey, Lora Hammer, Maxine Powers, Leatha Brindle, Judy Irish, Carol Hess, Jesse Powers, Ivan Powers, Bill Powers and Sam Powers.

He is survived by his son, John Calvin Powers, Jr., and his three grandchildren. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss him.

Graveside services will be held on May 20, 2024, at 10 am at Oakwood Cemetery, with Reverend Jerry Seigel officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri.
