John Kelly Stuart, Jr., age 77, peacefully passed away on May 7, 2024. He was born on July 3, 1946, in Stark City, MO, to proud parents John and Maxine Stuart. John's early years were marked by his passion for sports, excelling in both baseball and basketball during his time at Midway High School. His athletic talent led him to a brief but meaningful stint in minor-league baseball after graduation.

John's commitment to service and country led him to enlist in the US Navy.  While stationed in the San Francisco Bay Area; fate smiled upon him as he met the love of his life, Diane, whom he married on June 5, 1965, at St. Anne's Church. Their enduring union of 58 years was a testament to their deep love and shared experiences.

Upon retiring in 2000, John and Diane settled in Newton County, where they cultivated lasting friendships and continued to build their family legacy. John's gentle spirit and innate ability to see the best in others endeared him to all who knew him. His passing leaves a void in the lives of many, a testament to the impact he made during his lifetime.

John is survived by his wife Diane, his daughter, Laura Stuart of Anderson, and his son, John (Amy) Stuart of Neosho. He also leaves behind his sister, Susie Bradley of Joplin, and brothers Mark (Vickie) Stuart of Neosho, Steve Stuart of Stark City, Joe (Jewel) Stuart of Rocky Comfort, and Pastor Jim (Delores) Stuart of Stark City. His legacy continues through his five grandchildren: Virginia, Nicole, Blaine, Alex, and Jessica, as well as his six great-grandchildren: Alyna, Dayton, Braylon, Mason, Adreyan, and Novaya. John also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his sister Mary and her husband David Ogden of Carthage, brother David Lee and his wife Linda of Stark City, his grandson John Cameron Stuart, Jr., daughter-in-law Elizabeth N. Stuart, brother-in-law Cameron Lundstrom, and great-grandson Nathanial.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Clark Funeral Homes Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 9-10 am prior to the service. Contributions in memory of John can be made to the Living Waters Fellowship Church, 103 Front St. Stark City, MO 64866.
