Judy Ann Stark was born on September 5, 1946, in Aurora, Missouri, one of two daughters to R. L. and Winne Mae (Wilson) Stark. She entered into rest on September 21, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 80. Judy was a graduate of Ash Grove High School and continued her education at Trinity Lutheran Nursing School where she earned her RN degree. She then attained her BS degree in nursing from SMSU in Springfield, Missouri. Judy began her nursing career in St. Charles, Missouri and served as a medical missionary in Haiti from 1985-1989. Judy felt her greatest accomplishment was being a missionary, that was her favorite job. She then relocated to Springfield, Missouri where she worked at St. Johns, now Mercy Hospital as head of nursing in the cardiac unit, retiring in 2011. Judy was proud of her nursing career and lives she had was able to touch. Judy was an accomplished pianist and shared her talent as an accompanist for church services for many years. She was a member of the Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Following her retirement, she spent countless hours crocheting baby items that were donated to a local ministry. Judy is survived by her son, Christopher Lee Stark of Oklahoma; one sister, Alice Daspit and husband, Tom of Neosho, Missouri; two nephews, Cory Daspit and wife, Staci and Matt Daspit and wife, Sarah; one great niece, Kyla Daspit; four great nephews, Kaleb, Lance, Grayson and Jackson Daspit and her Sunday school class members, ‘Women of Worth’. Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be at 1 pm on September 28, 2026, at the Crossway Baptist Church Chapel, 2900 N. Barnes Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65803. Contributions in honor of Judy may be made to the Mission Committee of Crossway Baptist Church.
