Kimberly “Kim” Emory. Kim was born on September 30, 1949, in Jefferson City, Missouri, one of eight children to Harry S. and Dorothy L. (Snodgrass) Emory. He entered into rest on September 21, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 76.

Kim graduated from St. James High School and joined the U.S. Army on September 11, 1967. He was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged on September 1, 1970, and from the reserves in 1973.

He moved to the Southwest Missouri area in 1972 from St. James and worked at Consumers as a meatcutter. Having a love for horses, he established a farrier business that he maintained for 25 years until his retirement.

Kim loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. He was also a talented musician, playing the harmonica and saxophone. He was well loved and known to his children as “Dad” and his grandchildren as “Grandpa.” His eyes and his smile would brighten your day.

Kim attended the Sheep Shed Church.

On January 25, 1974, in Carthage, Missouri, Kim and Linda (Helton) were united in marriage, and she survives. In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by four children, Christy Miksell and husband Gary of Diamond, Chas Emory of Joplin, and Della Croft of Carthage; nine grandchildren: Kimberly Spencer, Samuel Spencer, Shae Ewan, Kylea Consier, Ruth Emory, Andrea Nichols, Cade Patrick, Adelyn Croft, and Evelyn Croft; eleven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Wren Taylor, Greg Emory, Jeff Emory, Holly Bocalig, Robin Emory, and Heather Look.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Spencer; granddaughter, Jacee Miksell; his parents; and brother, Thad Emory.
