Megan Elizabeth Abruzzo was born on September 19, 1990, in Parsons, Kansas and entered into rest on August 10, 2023 in Neosho, Missouri at the age of 32. Megan was a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 2009, a graduate of Crowder College and of the University of Kansas, earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She had relocated from Eudora, Kansas on June 1st to begin teaching first grade in the Neosho Public schools. Megan was passionate about teaching, she enjoyed eating out, singing, camping and most of all, being with her son, Hudson and family. She was a member of the Celebration Church. On October 15, 2016, in Neosho, Megan and Michael Abruzzo were united in marriage and Michael survives.
In addition to her husband, Megan is survived by one son, Hudson Abruzzo; her father and step-mother, Kurt and Judy Smith of Neosho; her mother, Sarah Smith of Neosho; paternal grandparents, Ike and Roxie Smith of Anderson, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Sylvia Anderson of Anderson, Missouri; three siblings, Taleah and Matthew Johnston of Stotts City, Missouri, Ashlee and Phillip Bentz, Neosho, Missouri and Dylan and Maya Smith of Carterville, Missouri; brothers-in-laws, Anthony and Jo Ana Abruzzo and Nicholas Abruzzo of Neosho; sisters-in-laws, Alicia Abruzzo of Neosho and Caitlyn Abruzzo of Branson, Missouri; mother-in-law, Debbie Abruzzo of Neosho, Missouri; father-in-law, James Abruzzo of Neosho, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Neosho First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at the Clark Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Megan may be made to the family for an Educational account for Hudson, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, Missouri 64850.
