Melvin Edward Adams, age 72, departed this life on November 16, 2024, at his home in Neosho, Missouri, after an illness.

Melvin was born on June 18, 1952, in Patterson, California, to Paul Edward Adams and Betty (Gifford) Adams. A graduate of Neosho High School, he went on to serve in the Army National Guard. He later worked for the City of Neosho as a manager for the recycling center, dedicating his time to sustainability and community improvement.

Melvin was an avid collector of matchbooks and coins, hobbies that reflected his curiosity and appreciation for history and detail.

He is survived by his two children, Deidra Adams of Florida and Jarred (Hannah) Adams of Seattle, Washington; two grandsons, Blake and Brandon Adams of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Leeroy Adams of Oronogo, Missouri; a sister, Barbara Burton of Neosho, Missouri; and brothers Michael Workman and Tom Workman, both of Neosho, Missouri. Melvin also leaves behind numerous other family members and many friends who will cherish his memory.
