Michael David Griffin, 61, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on January 19, 2025, after a sudden illness.

He was born on June 17, 1963, in Joplin, Missouri, to Norman Griffin and Joyce (Brown) Griffin.

Michael was a proud graduate of Diamond High School. In his professional life he was the owner of Take Away Cafe in Joplin, before the tornado. After that he began work as a Health Care Transit Driver. He was known for his strong work ethic and kind heart.

In his personal life, Michael had a deep passion for the outdoors, particularly hunting, and enjoyed raising hogs. He was also a devoted pet owner and had a special love for his corgi dogs.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Griffin of Carthage, Missouri; his siblings: Jerry (Cathy) Shipman of Diamond, Missouri, Gary Shipman of Carthage, Missouri, Alan (Michelle) Griffin of Carterville, Missouri, Keith Griffin of Joplin, Missouri, and sister Eva Holden of Carl Junction, Missouri.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Norman Griffin.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be announced at a later date.
