Randy Alan Carney, 74, passed away on May 9th, 2026 at Indio, California. Born on February 6th, 1952, in Neosho, Missouri. Randy lived a life defined by family, friendship, God, and a deep passion for golf and the outdoors. 

Randy attended Southwest Missouri State before earning his master's degree in production from University of Hawaii at Manoa. During his college years, he wrote many plays for theatre, showcasing his creativity and love for storytelling. He spent many years working at Waikola Village Golf Club and Kapalua Golf Club, dedicating more than 40 years to the game as a PGA professional. Randy was especially passionate about teaching golf and sharing his knowledge with others. He was respected not only for his knowledge of the game, but also for his patience, character, and love of teaching. Over the years, he competed in many amateur golf tournaments throughout Hawaii and built lasting friendships through the sport he loved. 

Outside of golf, Randy enjoyed fishing of Elk River and Sugar Creek, and spending time at Table Rock Lake in Branson. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys, and he loved country music. Randy was also a Christian whose faith was central to his life, often teaching others to live through God and trust Him in all things. He was always there when you needed him, a phone call or text away and he would love to show up without hesitation. As a father, he taught countless life lessons and practical skills that could be carried throughout life, from teaching his children how to be adults, decent human beings, and doing things the right way. Randy believed deeply in doing good and lived by those words, "Do to others as you would have them do to you."  He always said to listen to that little voice inside you, believing it would help guide you through difficult and important decisions. More than anything, he will be remembered for his steady presence, his generosity, and the love he gave so freely. 

He is survived by his sister, Brenda Schatzley; his son, Aaron Carney; his daughter, Ashley Carney; his six grandchildren, Allison Huff, Adrian Legaspi Carney, Hicky Huff, Wyatt Huff, Kali Huff, and Odin Huff; as well as two great-grand-grandchildren. 

Randy will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, sense of humor, and the lasting impact he made on the many people fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through friendships he built, the lives he touched, and the memories shared with family and loved one. His kindness, love of teaching, creativity and unwavering presence in the lives of those around him will be deeply missed.
