Ray (Budd) Edgar Cooper, 85, Joplin, entered into rest on December 23, 2023, at his home in Joplin, MO, following an extended illness.  Budd was born May 19, 1938, in Neosho, Missouri.  He was a lifelong area resident.  He graduated from Neosho High School and served in the US Army from 10/26/1961 to 10/23/1963.  Budd spent the majority of his adult life working in the automotive industry as a parts manager at various car dealerships in Seneca and Neosho, MO, and Northwest Arkansas. Budd and Karen L. Gunlock were married on March 24, 1961, at Fairview Baptist Church in Joplin.  Survivors include a son, Jason Ray Cooper and wife, Maureen; a granddaughter, Sidney Ray Cooper; and one brother, Gary Cooper.  He is preceded in death by his wife and parents. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Osborne Cemetery in Joplin.
