Obituary

Obituary lovingly provided by the family.

Robert William (Bob) Moffatt, 84, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Huntsville, AL.

Bob was born on December 4, 1941, to William C. Moffatt and Anne E. Moffatt

He graduated from Paris High School in 1960, then began his working life as a farm hand before moving to Houston, TX to work as a heavy equipment operator and welder. In 1965 Bob married Norine Baumgartner and welcomed their only child James Anthony (Tony) Moffatt in their first year together. After stints living and working in Houston, TX, Carthage and Springfield, MO, and Freeport, IL, the couple finally settled in Neosho, MO in 1970. There, Bob started a small business in residential construction which he operated successfully for over 20 years. He enjoyed his work and established a reputation for high quality work and as an honest man of integrity. Bob retired after 45 years of hard work and grit in the construction trades. In his spare time he loved to read American history, particularly about the Old West and the Civil War. Through the years, Bob and Norine loved to water ski, square dance, travel with their camper, and follow St. Louis Cardinals baseball. They also took every opportunity to spend time with Tony's growing family and always made family ties a high priority.

Bob is survived by his son Tony Moffatt, daughter-in-law Leasa Moffatt, their children, Andrew J. Moffatt, William C. Moffatt II, Grant R. Moffatt, Victoria A. DeGraff and her husband Ian, and Catharine A. Moffatt, the family of his late sister Barbara Millard, his brother James R. Moffatt and his family, and sister-in-law Nadeine Gold and her family.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife Norine, parents, and sister Barbara Millard.

The funeral service will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, MO on December 20, 2025, at 10:00 am. with burial at the IOOF Cemetery, Neosho, MO.
