Rodney Lee Bradfield, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, was born December 1, 1952 in Goodman, Missouri, one of four sons to Charles and Velma (Chase) Bradfield. He entered into the gates of heaven on May 1, 2023 at the age of 70. Rodney graduated from Webb City High School and was in the last draft of the Vietnam Conflict on November 22, 1971. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on November 10, 1977. Following his discharge from the Army, he continued his education, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at MSSU. He worked at Motorola in Webb City; as a Senior Buyer at Premier Turbines in Neosho and currently owned and operated Crown Construction. He was a talented and skilled craftsman and enjoyed golfing, western movies and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Rodney was the epitome of a loyal servant, serving others with great passion. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Joplin. On July 28, 1972, at the Emanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, Rodney married the love of his life, Janet Lee (Conner) and she survives. In addition to his wife of fifty years, Rodney is survived by three sons, Aaron (Melissa) Bradfield of Oronogo, Ryan Bradfield of Webb City and Chase (Glory) Bradfield of Cassville; nine grandchildren, Landis, Lilly, Ethan, Dawson, Madison, Henry, Bishop, Carmen and Hosanna; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cathy (Jerry) Shipman and Craig (Mary) Conner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Warren Lefler, James Bradfield and Kenny Bradfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9 ^th at the First Baptist Church, 4128 Connecticut Avenue, Joplin, Pastor Craig Conner and Pastor James Tickel will officiate. Military honors and interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Webb City. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until service time at the church.
