Ronald Gene Batson was born on December 18, 1945, in Barry County, Missouri, one of five children to William F. and Sylvia (Carney) Batson.  He entered into rest on January 23, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 78. He served in the U.S. Army and later in the National Guards. Ronald was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a carpenter for Red Carpet and as a Security Guard for Tyson Foods.  He was an avid collector and especially enjoyed collecting Nascar items.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Ronald is survived by two children, Samuel Batson and wife, Anita of Goodman, Missouri, and Angela Reynolds and husband, Carl of Goodman, Missouri; three grandsons, Austin Reynolds of Granby, Missouri, Hunter Reynolds and Caleb Reynolds of Goodman, Missouri and two brothers, Donald Batson of Greenfield, Missouri and Robert Batson of Alba, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Stone and Jane Angelo. A memorial service to celebrate Ronald's life will be held at a later date.
