Ruthey Lee Payton Davis was born February 13, 1944 in Neosho, Missouri, one of eleven children to James and Dona (Crowe) Payton.  She entered into rest on March 22, 2023 in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 79.  Ruthey was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School.  She worked as a licensed cosmetologist and had worked at Sunbeam and Lohman Manufacturing.  She was of the Pentecostal Faith.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing music with her husband, brothers and grandchildren at local hootenannies. Ruthey married James Z. Davis and he preceded her in death in November, 2004.  She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Lopez of Neosho; two step-daughters, Terry Mae Bruggemann of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Laschelle Needham of Pine, Colorado; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Josh) Banks and Richard Bender and Kayla McHaffie; three great grandchildren, Blake Quick, Joshua Banks, Jr. and Jianna Banks and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Chris Davis, May 13, 2019; seven brothers and three sisters.  Funeral services will be held on March 28, 2023 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Gibson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 5:30 to 7 pm.
