William Joseph Paul Doubek, III, was born on August 4, 1951, in Decorah, Iowa, one of five children to Wm. Doubek, II and Elizabeth Noehl Doubek.  He entered into rest on May 30, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 72.  Bill graduated from Regis High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He entered into the U.S. Air Force in 1970 and was honorably discharge in 1978.  He was a K-9 handler during his military service.  He attended Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota, 1979-1981 and Concordia Seminary, 1981-1985.  He graduated from Aquinos Institute of Theology with a doctorate degree in St. Louis, Missouri.  In 1998, the family moved to Neosho, Missouri, where Bill served as pastor of the First Lutheran Church in Neosho until his retirement in 2015.  He also served as chaplain for Freeman Health Systems.  Bill was a member of the VFW and served two terms as commander and served as chaplain, was a member of the American Legion and served as National Chaplain and a member of the Ministerial Alliance.  Bill was active in his community and had served on the Neosho City Council and two terms as Mayor of Neosho.  He taught concealed carry classes and loved his dogs.  He especially loved being a dad and grandpa.  On August 8, 1981, in Clinton, Iowa, Bill and Julie Hatteberg were united in marriage and she survives of the home.  Additional survivors include three children, Abigal Love, William Aaron Noehl Doubek, IV and wife, Amber and Paul Adam Doubek and wife, Bethany: six grandchildren, Ava, Gabe, Penelope, Jasper, Archer and Ari and three siblings, Beckie Foizey, Beth Michaels and Bryan Doubek.  He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Eva, his parent and brother Robert.
