Wilma Dean Hilliard Garrison, 88, Neosho, Missouri, entered into rest on March 23, 2023, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was born August 4, 1934, in Fairview, Missouri, one of five children to Minferd and Nellie G. (Hutchings) Embrey. She graduated from Fairview High School. Wilma was an office manager and a licensed insurance agent at the Bob Johnson State Farm Agency, retiring in 1996 after twenty years of service. She enjoyed gardening, farm life, and traveling. Wilma was a member of the Wheaton Church of Christ. In January 1961, Wilma married George Hilliard. Together they had six children. George preceded her in death in August 2000. She married J.W. Garrison on June 7, 2003, and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2014. Wilma is survived by five of her children, Ron (Luci) Hilliard of Stark City, Missouri, Ed (Pam) Hilliard of Luther, Oklahoma, Georgia Holtz of Goodman, LaDonna (Jim) Sexton of Neosho and Nelda Poe of Stark City; one sister, Clista Kruse of Neosho; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Louis Hilliard; grandson, Christopher Lee Hilliard; two sisters, Ila Cummings and Vida Stevens and a brother, Lee Embrey, along with many faithful friends. Private family services will be held. Contributions in memory of Wilma may be made to the Wheaton Church of Christ.
